Barbara Walters hospitalized after injury

Veteran news anchor and co-host of ABC's The View has been hospitalized, according to several reports. The co-host fell and cut her forehead Saturday night during an inauguration party in Washington, D.C.

According to ABC news spokesman Jeffrey Schneider, the 83-year-old Walters fell on a step at the residence of Britain's ambassador to the United States, Peter Westmascott.

"Out of an abundance of caution," according to Schneider, Walters was sent to the hospital. Reports state that Walters is conscious and will likely be released soon; however, there are no details as to when the release will happen.
