Barbara Walters hospitalized after fall

Fox News is reporting that veteran newswoman Barbara Walters has been hospitalized after falling yesterday at an inauguration party in Washington.

The 83 year old newswoman, and co-host on The View, fell last night at the residence of Britain's ambassador to the United States, Peter Westmacott, this according to ABC News spokesman Jeffrey Schneider.

Walters suffered a cut to the forehead and was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment and a full examination. Schneider said she was alert and "telling everyone what to do, which we all take as a very positive sign."

Walters was the first female co-anchor of network evening news, working with Harry Reasoner on ABC News flagship program ABC Evening News. She’s probably best known for her 25 years as co-host of the ABC news magazine 20/20.

Walters is internationally recognized for her interviews with entertainers, royalty and rulers throughout the years. Her interviews were a must see, much the same as Oprah Winfrey’s recent interview with Lance Armstrong.
