News from the desert: Barbara Sinatra was honored at the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center 25th Anniversary Gala at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Indian Wells, California.
Sinatra and the other honorees Helene Galen and Nelda Linsk were the original founders of the nonprofit organization that helps children of abuse.
More than 600 guests paid $500 each to attend the event.
Tom Dreesen was the master of ceremonies. He has a lifetime of performing in motion pictures, television, and theater; but most important, 14 years as an opening act for longtime buddy Frank Sinatra.
Michael Feinstein, a leader in promoting the music of The Great American Songbook, sang several of the songs long associated with Frank.
