One more reason the north side is getting more fun.
North Spokane has a few places you just might cross the Spokane River for.
Stir is located at 7115 North Division Street. Psychologically, the north side is about 2,000 miles away. Realistically, it is only a few miles north of downtown.
I can tell you that as a "north-sider" historically, there has not been any reason for those "south-siders" and "down-towners" to visit the north side. Sure we have a Target and Nordstrom Rack but what else is there? Up until a few years ago there was no reason to head north to eat of have a drink. Today, we celebrate the opening of the Red Lobster, about a month ago, as well as the addition of several smaller boutique type bars. There is Tonix, Stir, Flamin Joes, Screaming Yak, Bin 9820, which I believe just changed their name again, Cafe Neo and a few others. These new bars have really added a lot to the north side and have given many people a reason to travel that great distance and see what is going on.
Stir is my destination. They are located right on Division with plenty of easy "free" parking. The bar itself is pretty small but there are enough seats to go around. There is a small patio and a decent size bar if you like to sit and chat with the bartender. The inside is very well designed and the decor is modern. The dishes are moderately expensive so if you are trying to save money hit the happy hour or just order an appetizer.
The happy hours for Stir are Everyday 3 to 6PM and include1/2 price appetizers, $1 off specialty drinks, draft beers and well liquors. Sunday is all day. Monday all day is $4 classic cosmos. Tuesdays all day is $2 bottles of beer. Wednesday all day is 1/2 price bottles of wine.
