A small bar owner received a cease-and-desist letter from Starbucks because the company learned that one of the bar's beers was dubbed "Frappicino." Missouri pub owner, Jeff Britton, decided to respond to the letter by sending Starbucks a check... for $6. Britton said that the money was what he made on the "three beers" that he sold.
Britton couldn't believe that his tiny bar was really affecting the coffee company giant so he sent them a sarcastic letter along with that check -- and he let them know that he changed the name of his beer to simply, "The F Word."
If you were wondering how Starbucks learned about the pub's beer (which supposedly tastes just like a "Frappicino"), customers who tried the beer "checked in" on the app "Untappd." Starbucks found out about it and within a year, sent to cease-and-desist to Britton.
Britton said that he understands where Starbucks is coming from and that he simply sent the letter and the check as a joke.
