In conjunction with the American Heart Association, Banner Health is offering free stroke screenings in May during National Stroke Awareness Month. The Stroke Check community screening program is designed to educate people who may not know they are at risk of stroke. People currently under the care of physicians for stroke, mini-stroke or TIA should instead continue care with their own physician. Registration is required by calling 602-230-2273.

Banner Thunderbird will continue its “I Can Cope” series with a free community lecture presented a community resource panel. The panel includes representatives from Banner Health’s Palliative Care, American Cancer Society, oncology social workers and a survivor guest speaker.
