It is often said "Children are a blessing from the Lord!" While that may indeed be true for some people, it is also possible that some children could be a curse, perhaps a form of divine payback or a result of reaping what you sow.
Christians sometimes debate on whether they should use birth control (such as condoms or "the pill") within the confines of a loving marriage. "If it's the Lords will" then we will have a child, or two, or three, or more. Some people believe it is important to lend God a hand in the timing of such a bless-ed event, while others throw caution to the wind.
