A statement released Monday by Manchester Police said police officers responded to the Centrix Bank at 41 Hooksett Road Friday for a report of a robbery. Police identified and arrested Eric Dow, 40, of 747 Beech Street as the suspect in that robbery on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.
Police stated that on Friday, at about 5:15 p.m., upon his arrival at the bank, Officer Ryan Brandreth met three employees who reported that a man armed with a gun had entered the bank and demanded money.
Employees, told Officer Brandreth the suspect approached the counter, and after handing a teller a note, announcing a robbery and demanding cash, he then brandished a black handgun, jumped over the counter and escorted two employees to the safe, where the suspect took some cash and fled the building on foot.
The Manchester Police Department Detective Squad, along with the department’s Special Enforcement Division, began an intensive investigation, and during the course of that investigation, Dow was identified as the suspect. Dow was located and taken into custody at approximately 8:00 p.m. Monday, on Eddy Road without incident, police said.
At the time the statement was released, police said the investigation was still ongoing and that anyone with information on this case is still being asked to contact the Manchester Police Department at 668-8711.
