If you are a Bank of America or a Merill Lynch debit or credit card customer and you are looking for something to do with your family over the summer, you may want to consider visiting museums, zoos, botanical gardens, or science centers in your area. Bank of America has developed a new benefit for its cardholding customers – the Museums on Us® program. Customers who hold either a Bank of America or a Merill Lynch debit or credit card can gain free admission to 150 participating museums, zoos, botanical gardens, or science centers across the United States.

To gain one free general admission ticket for the cardholder, the cardholder must present the debit or credit card along with a photo ID at the participating institution on the day of the visit during the first full weekend of every month. Upcoming eligible weekends are posted on the Museums on Us® website and include:

  • July 7 and 8
  • August 4 and 5
  • September 1 and 2
  • October 6 and 7
  • November 3 and 4
  • December 1 and 2

Admission does not include access to special events or traveling exhibits and shows that are not covered by the general admission price. Participating museums, zoos, botanical gardens, or science centers may be found using the state drop down menu found at the top right corner on the Museums on Us® website. Once you select your state, the link will show you a state map. By selecting a featured city on the state map, you will then see links to all of the participating institutions within that city that include a description, hours and contact information. Participating museums in the Atlanta metro area include the High Museum of Art, the Atlanta History Center along with the Tellus Science Museum and the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, Georgia,(Bank of America, 2012).
