Bands, Brew and BBQ at SeaWorld Orlando, part one: The bands (Photos)

SeaWorld Orlando kicked off Bands, Brew and BBQ on February 9 with Chris Young with Jerrod Niemann as the lead-in to weekend concerts that run through March 17.

This year, the park has an expanded concert schedule, with headliner acts every Saturday and Sunday. The shows are included with your regular park admission, but if you want reserved seating, you can purchase a VIP package that also includes a BBQ meal.

If you do the general seating, be aware that die-hard fans stake out seats almost as soon as the Bayside area opens. However, most concert goers want until a little closer to concert time (4 p.m.) to head to the stadium. You'll be able to buy band merchandise before or after the concert, as you can see in the slideshow above.

While the main stage concerts, which take place in Bayside Stadium at SeaWorld Orlando, are the big draw, they're not the only musical entertainment you'll see throughout the day. You'll hear some great bands on stage on the lakefront as you stroll among the beer and BBQ booths. They appear throughout the day, and you can even get out on the dance floor if you want burn off some calories after our BBQ meal. A DJ spins tunes between the live band set so you've always got some musical accompaniment.

Shamu and his friends frequent this area, and kids are welcome on the dance floor, so it's a great spot for families. On opening day, I ended up getting into an impromptu solo dance with Shamu himself. Even if you can't stay for the headliner concert, it still gives you a chance to enjoy the "bands" part of Bands, Brew and BBQ.

But what about the brew? Continue on to part two of this article to read about the delicious, ice cold beer or skip ahead to part three and read about the BBQ.
