The Swarm were founded and began play in 2004, after the previous team owners purchased the rights to the Montreal Express franchise that year. The Swarm play their home games at the Xcel Energy Center, located at 199 Kellogg Blvd. W. in St. Paul. Also the home of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, the arena has a seating capacity of more than 17,900 for hockey and lacrosse, and hosts a number of hockey tournaments and concerts as well.
The arena has concessions run by Levy Restaurants as well as other dining choices: Headwaters Bar and Restaurant and Breakaway Carvery on the Club Level; Headwaters Express Carvery, with two locations in the arena; the Goal Line Eatery and Bar, with classic sandwiches, pasta and salads; and the Bud Light Fan Zone, featuring a wide variety of fan favorites plus 40 flat-screen TVs and full bar service.
Tickets for the Bandits/Swarm match-up are available through www.ticketmaster.com; tickets range in price from $22 to $90 (plus taxes and fees).
