It's the new year and everyone is keeping their ears open for what artist is going to be hot in 2012. Fools For Rowan could be one of the contenders. They're a rock band based out of Nashville with great guitar riffs and a powerful lead singer Erin Mullens. The band alsoo consists of Jordan Cullen (Drums), Andrew Williams (bass), Ryan Harrison Nanney (rythym guitar) and Rachel Brandsness. They mix classic rock elements with a touch of country influence. It may sound strange, but the result is pretty awesome when you give it a chance.
They released their first album Twisted. Tied Up. Tangled in 2009, which features singles “Burnt Around the Edges” and “Dead.” The album itself is pretty solid for a debut. There are some great songs that get you up and moving like “ Tangled,” which has an awesome guitar riff and has an all around great, energetic vibe. Another standout song from the album is “Light Me Up,” which really shows how powerful Mullens' voice is. It even has that gruff, rawness to it similar to Melissa Etheridge's voice.
They have opened for plenty of bands, such as Evanescence, Sick Puppies and Throwing Gravity. They are ready to release new music for 2012, but because they act as their own record label they are looking for some help to release a new album and music video. In order to raise money they have started the Kickstarter campaign. This is where fans can pledge anywhere from $1 to $5,000 in order to reach their goal of $30,000. There are rewards in store if you pledge more than a dollar that range from stickers to autographed drumsticks to a copy of their album and the grand prize of winning all of the rewards offered.
The band has currently raised $5,240. If you want to help them reach their goal you can make a pledge here. If you want to learn more about the band and buy their album visit their website. You can also follow them on Facebook and twitter.
