Band to be on the lookout for: The Mowgli's

Eight different members, including vocalists and instrumentalists, make up the new rock/alternative band called The Mowgli’s. Although based out of Los Angeles, their hit song “San Francisco” has become a local radio station sensation. The Mowgli’s debut album “Waiting For The Dawn” has been out since June, and with the help of the success from their first single, they have been growing in popularity.

This quirky band fully engages their audience when they take the stage. While it may seem that they favor the West coast, they have meandered to Minneapolis a couple of times in the last few months. The Mowgli’s headlined a show this summer on June 25t at First Avenue, at which they confessed, “This is our first time here…and we love Minneapolis!” The show was non-stop uplifting energy, even for a Tuesday evening.

The Mowgli’s returned to First Avenue on October 29th for a sold-out show as an opener for Walk The Moon, an equally energetic group known for their song “Anna Sun”. With a solid set list containing several upbeat hits from their album, The Mowgli’s did their part when it came to getting the audience prepared for the show.

Given their recent track record of successful shows at First Avenue, it is safe to say that The Mowgli’s will likely return to Minneapolis in the near future. For a foot-tapping, hand-clapping good time, consider buying tickets to The Mowgli’s show next time they end up in Minneapolis for a show. In the meantime, keep your ears open for their new single, “Say It, Just Say It”, which has recently begun playing on Sirius XM Hits 1, according to www.themowglis.net.
