The bodies of some of the missing Mexican band members have been found in a well. Authorities report they have found a dozen bodies inside a well in a vacant lot, which is not far from where the members of Kombo Kolumbia went missing after being abducted by an armed group. The band members went missing from a nightclub in the town of Mina where they were performing for a private party, according to Reuters on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013.
Four of the bodies have been identified as members of the band Kombo Kolombia. The four bodies were all wearing jeans and t-shirts with the band’s logo on them. Police have learned more about the abduction after one of the band members, who was able to escape being abducted, gave police detailed information on the incident. The one member of the group who was able to escape fled Mexico after reporting the abduction to the police.
18 men, including 12 musicians, were abducted from the nightclub early Friday morning and police believe the area of the well could still hold more bodies as they continue with their investigation. The band, which was a very popular group in Mexico, play bigger venues, such as concerts, but Thursday night they were in a nightclub playing for a private party.
When they didn’t come home from this private gig family members went to the night club to find their vehicles still parked and the band members no where in sight. All of the band members are from the area of Mina. Neighbors in the area of the nightclub report hearing gunshots and vehicles speeding off at a high rate of speed about 4 a.m. on Friday.
