The month of April is set to begin, and the current season of the L@TE: Friday Nights Program at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) rolls on.

First up on April 4th, is the Creative Growth Beyond Trend Runway Event. In celebrating their 40th anniversary, the Creative Growth Art Center is collaborating with The Possible, one of BAMPFA’s exhibitions currently on view. It is a feature of one-of-a-kind textile designs from the Creative Growth Studio, and The Possible dye lab. Models will include Creative Growth artists and friends, styled by Karen Anderson, Loz Baca, Rachel Cubra, and Anne Hartford.

On April 11th, BAMPFA will be presenting composer and performer Alvin Curran. Visiting from his home base in Rome, he will be on hand in performing The Alvin Curran Fakebook, a solo piece that draws from fifty years of composing in a fusion of piano, voice and electronics, pared down to the most intimate scale. On April 18th, BAMPFA will present Cine/Spin, the annual student DJ extravaganza that features UC Berkeley students, spinning to films from the BAMPFA collection. A reception and photo booth will be hosted by the BAMPFA student committee.

Rounding out the month on April 24th is The Something. This is a conglomeration of possibilities for exploration and observation. It is where participants could be doing anything from plunking a string or picking up fabric. In turn, sounds will gather, visuals will evolve, and the dynamics of actions will coalesce into moments of ordered harmony, chaos and back again. All programs begin at 7:30 pm in Gallery B, with doors opening at 5 and a DJ at 6:30.
