On the May 19, 2014 episode of VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” it was revealed that Bambi was pregnant with Lil’ Scrappy’s baby, but lost the child due to a miscarriage. According to a statement released by Bambi’s representative, there have been rumors and allegations about the incident she wishes to dispel. Straight from the A reports that the rep sent the website the statement, an image of a medical document indicating the miscarriage took place, and photos of Bambi, whose given name is Addie Benson, recuperating in the hospital.
Straight from the A reports that Bambi wants everyone to know that watching the episode regarding her miscarriage was very painful. Nonetheless, she wanted to ensure that viewers realize her pain is very real.
Her publicist released the reality star’s statement, which was sent to Straight from the A on Monday, which says the “incident was life changing” for Bambi. She was “in love with the idea of being pregnant and an abortion was the last thing” she would ever think of. Bambi adamantly states she “had a miscarriage” and is now being forced to “relive it with the world to watch!”
In the statement, Bambi also asked that everyone let her and Scrappy deal with the tragic loss of their baby, and “not make speculations as to what happened.” She added that she is still continuing to heal “during this process” and that Scrappy has been by her side the entire way.
In the statement, the publicist writes, “We ask the media respect Bambi’s decision to respond at this time to eliminate rumors and negative allegations.” The statement then indicated the photos of Bambi’s hospital stay and the medical document were included for review of the matter.
Bambi is not a new face on VH1 and in the past was featured on another of the network’s reality shows, “Basketball Wives: LA,” as a friend of Malaysia Pargo, according to Reality Tea. But once Bambi and Scrappy became an item, she became a fixture on the Atlanta-based project.
