Brian's exclusive forecast for Baltimore, Annapolis, and northern Delmarva:

Today: Cloudy early, then clouds and sun during the afternoon with a high around 60.

Tonight: Variable cloudiness with a low in the mid 40s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with afternoon and evening rain showers. The high will be in the lower 60s.

Wednesday Night: Rain showers, possibly ending as snow showers. Turning sharply colder with a low in the upper 20s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, but cold with a high around 35.

The extended forecast calls for sunshine on Friday with a low in the upper 20s and a high in the upper 40s. Mostly sunny on Saturday with a low in the lower 30s and a high in the mid 50s. Mostly sunny on Sunday with a low in the upper 30s and a high in the mid to upper 50s. Clouds and sun with a few showers on Monday with a low around 40 and a high in the upper 40s.

Morning cloudiness is expected to lift by early afternoon to reveal a mostly sunny sky later in the day. Lows this morning are quite mild with readings in the lower to middle 40s. By day's end the mercury will rise into the upper 50s to lower 60s. Meanwhile, a potent late-winter storm system will move from west to east across the Ohio and Tennessee valleys on Wednesday. Although we were monitoring this system for potential winter weather, the low will track too close to Baltimore and Washington. Consequently, we will be in the mild sector and all precipitation will fall in the form of rain. There is a slight chance that the rain ends as some wet snowflakes early Thursday morning as colder air is pulled around the center of low pressure. Significantly colder air will overspread the Middle Atlantic states on Thursday with highs only around freezing. Friday will feature a sunny sky, but readings will be cool with highs in the 40s. Looking ahead, the upcoming weekend will offer mostly sunny conditions along with seasonal temperatures. Lows each day will be in the 30s and highs each day will be in the 50s.

On the Maryland portion of Chesapeake Bay, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect through Wednesday afternoon. Winds today will come out of the southwest at 10 knots with waves around one foot. Winds tonight will come out of the southeast at 10 knots with waves around one foot. Winds on Wednesday will come out of the south at 10 to 15 knots with gusts over 20 knots. Winds on Wednesday night will come out of the northwest at 20 knots with gusts over 30 knots and waves from 1 to 4 feet. Winds on Thursday will come out of the northwest at 20 knots with gusts over 30 knots and waves from 1 to 4 feet. Boaters should always stay tuned to the latest forecasts and advisories from the National Weather Service.

The average high temperature for March 11 is 52 degrees and the average low is 32 degrees. The records at Baltimore on this date are 77 degrees in 2006, and 11 degrees in 1996. Today's sunrise will occur at 7:24 and the sunset will occur at 7:09. Weather data courtesy of the National Weather Service.
