His name is Ivan Martin and he has been dubbed the gentleman of comedy. He is a stand-up comedian and professional emcee. His show is entitled 'The Chronicles of a Gentleman'.

Martin hails from Jacksonville, Florida and moved to Baltimore two years ago by way of Virginia Beach. His move to Baltimore was precipitated from him hearing that Baltimore audiences are very challenging and he wanted to continue his own professional development.

Martin is a Navy war veteran, having served 2 deployments in the Iraqi Freedom initiative and also assisted with Hurricane Katrina.
Martin got his start in the living room of his house. He said his father taught him how to tell jokes and his comedic style was corroborated in the band room of his high school, Edward H. White, in Jacksonville. (Martin also plays the trumpet.)

He says he is not influenced by people, but by life. The twenty-nine year old has performed with some well-known people in the industry - Kevin Hart, John Witherspoon and Jeff Dunham.

Beginning in February, he will be headlining and emceeing a comedy happy hour series at Baltimore's Oxygen Ultra Lounge, located at 10 S. Calvert St.

This young man continues to dream and hopes to have a one man show on Broadway in his future.

For further information, Ivan Martin can be contacted at or 410-960-7821.
