If you're not following Lent or just want something to look forward to when you resume eating meat, just know that you can have gourmet indulgence without breaking the bank. Baltimore's Haute Dog is open daily for lunch, outside in a sheltered cart on the corner of Falls Road and Lake Avenue.
There are standard interesting flavors that appear daily, including a signature hot dog with tomato and onion jam, bacon and onion marmalade and Dijon mustard. The standard hot dogs are $5 each.
However, some new extra gourmet flavors have been sneaking onto the menu and some of them do go for $7, but they're definitely worth it! The MD Crab dog is a pork hotdog seasoned with Old Bay and surrounded by creamy, rich crab dip. The Shepherd's Pie dog is lamb, surrounded by mashed potatoes studded with peas and corn. The lamb dog had a kick of spice.
