Baltimore Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII, defeating 49ers 34-31 in thriller

Super Bowl XLVII will go down as a game with many backstories, dreams and quest for redemption. The game at the superdome in New Orleans, was preceded by a memorable rendition of Jennifer Hudson singing"America the Beautiful" with the choir from Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The game was a thriller which originally looked to be a rout, the San Francisco 49ers were the ones who gained momentum in the second half to make what was a memorable SuperBowl for time to come. Baltimore Ravens for the most part was blowing out the 2013 NFC conference champions and all of a sudden the power went off. blackout that lasted for 34 minutes and turned into a shootout.

Fox Sports reported coach John Harbaugh saying " How could it be any other way? It's never pretty. Its never perfect. But it's us." The delay made this game 4 hours, 14 minutes. Overall, making this the longest Super Bowl ever.

Ray Lewis, the 37-year old Ravens linebacker set for the Hall of Fame ended his 17 year season career with a second Super Bowl title. At the same time, the torch was passed to Joe Flacco, who was named Most Valuable Player after his 11-0 touchdown and no interception record tying NFL record.

Joe Flacco's three touchdowns, Jacoby Jones 108 TD return and a resounding 4th down stop won the game for the Baltimore Ravens for their second championship in franchise history. Ravens fans are making the trip back to Baltimore this Monday as well as the Ravens with a parade scheduled this Tuesday.
