Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones joins Dancing With The Stars

Baltimore Ravens star Jacoby Jones and his team may have just won the Lombardi trophy, but now, Jacoby is eying up another trophy -- the mirrorball trophy. The wide receiver has just signed on to appear on the 16th season of Dancing With The Stars and judging by his end zone dances, he's got a good shot at it.

Last night, February 24, the news was announced via commercial during the Academy Awards, and host Tom Bergeron also confirmed the news on his Twitter account with a funny nod at the Super Bowl blackout. "Jacoby Jones will dance this season," he wrote. "But if he pulls too far ahead, the 9ers will cut power to the ballroom."

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this month, Jacoby was asked whether or not he'd consider doing the show. And he said, "Oh yes sir ... I'll get it done. I'll get it done, baby."

If Jacoby does get it done, he'll be the fourth NFL star to do so. As ESPN reports, past winners include former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith, former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver.

New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz (also known for his end zone dances) turned down his chance to join the DWTS cast last year because of scheduling.

The rest of the cast will be announced tomorrow morning on Good Morning America.

Dancing With The Stars season 16 is set to premiere on ABC on March 18 at 8/7c.
