The Baltimore Ravens, undaunted by the sports analysts outside of Md. who favored the New England Patriots in yesterday’s AFC championship game by 8 – 10 points, are going to the Super Bowl after beating the Pats last night 28 - 13. Sports writers in the greater Baltimore area predicted that the Ravens would take the game by at least 3 points.
Joe Flacco threw three touchdown passes in the second half last night, while Tom Brady who has been described as the best quarterback in the NFL, ended last night’s game with a Ravens’ interception.
A few interesting points resulting from Baltimore’s win last night is that the best linebacker in the NFL, Ravens’ Ray Lewis, doesn't get to retire just yet. Lewis will have to wait until after the Super Bowl scheduled for 2-weeks from now in New Orleans, to hang up his helmet.
And Baltimore’s win also sets up a matchup between two NFL coaching brothers, John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens, and Jim Harbaugh of the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers have been listed as 5-point favorites in the Super Bowl according to CBS News.
Thousands of Ravens fans made it to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough last night and made it out onto the field after the win to hang out with Coach John Harbaugh and many of the Ravens’ players, including Ray Rice and Joe Flacco.
