Baltimore kitten recovering after being set on fire twice

An 8-month-old Baltimore kitten is recovering after being doused with an unidentified liquid and set on fire by children in late July. A witness reported seeing two boys throwing rocks and bricks at the cat. A few moments later, she saw the cat burning. The resourceful cat rolled to put the flames out, but the boys set it alight a second time. The witness called Animal Control, but the kitten reportedly ran off and spent another ten days on the street before she was found was rescued.

The kitten, a female now named Gabrielle, is recovering at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter. She suffered serious burns on her right side and will be cared for by a local rescue group called Recycled Love. Gabrielle is expected to recover, provided her wounds do not become infected.

Police are asking for help in identifying Gabrielle’s attackers.
