Baltimore Humane Society hosting V-Day wedding for long-time shelter residents (Photos)

After a successful and quite adorable first wedding last year, the Baltimore Humane Society has decided to throw a double wedding this year on Thursday, February 14, 2013, in honor of its Lonely Hearts Club.

This Valentine’s Day at 2 p.m., the public is invited to come together at the BHS (1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown, MD) to celebrate the wedding of shelter pups Tippy and Fuschia and shelter kitties King Julian and Elena. Learn more about these members of the Lonely Hearts Club in the slideshow above. They are all available for adoption!

BHS said that this wedding is "a celebration of hope, caring, and friendship in the lives of animals who have lost the love and support of their families, but who tirelessly search for it again."

I Love Furballs Campaign
After the nuptials, MINI of Baltimore will escort the lovely couples in a MINI to their "honeymoon." MINI of Baltimore has partnered with the BHS for the I Love Furballs Campaign. As part of the campaign, MINI has pledged to donate $1 to BHS for every new "Like" on the MINI of Baltimore Facebook Page from February 1 to March 15 (up to $5,000).

Lonely Hearts Club
Throughout February, the BHS is promoting the adoption of its Lonely Hearts Club members. These are the longest residents who have been at BHS for at least a year. Members of the long term residents’ Lonely Hearts Club will be available for photo shoots prior to or following the wedding. For more information on the Lonely Hearts Club, please visit bmorehumane.org.
