Bibliophiles from all over the city and state will converge on Baltimore's historic Mt. Vernon Place as the Baltimore Book Festival kicks off September 27-29. Presenting authors from all genres, ethnicities and walks of life, the BBF will feature hundreds of writers over this three day event.
Some of the featured authors will include Blessed Sheriff, Allegra Bennett, Sheri Booker, Laura Lippman, James McBride, Tomie dePaola and Tiger Beat, just to name a few. There will be exhibitors, booksellers, poetry readings, cooking demonstrations and other events for the entire family.
The major sponsors for this family-friendly festival are the City of Baltimore, Maryland State Arts Council in partnership with many other agencies.
According to the BBF website, partners for the event are as follows: CityLit Project, The Children's Bookstore, Enoch Pratt Free Library, Johns Hopkins University Press, Maryland Humanities Council, Maryland Romance Writers, Red Emma's Bookstore Coffeehouse, Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America and Third Eye Comics.
The festival takes place Friday and Saturday from 12 PM-8 PM and Sunday from 12 PM-7 PM, centered around the 600 block of North Charles St.
