Lawrence Brothers Promotions (LBP) and Shake N’Go (MilkyWay Hair) are proud to announce the winner of the 2013 “Face of the Show” modeling competition -- Baltimore’s own, Mearg Tareke, a.k.a. “Magi.”
The announcement of Magi’s win was released a week after the competition at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, Virginia. Models from numerous states along the east coast gathered to compete for this highly sought-after award. But from a sea of models, Magi rose to the top, as the winner.
“Magi is a beautiful model with experience, and has a wonderful personality. We’re confident that she will represent our brands well” said LBP, CEO Kevin Lawrence.
Doug Lawrence explained that Magi has agreed to represent Lawrence Brothers Promotions on its marketing materials for their Prime Time Hair and Fashion Show to be held on December 8, 2013 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.
Magi has been featured in numerous magazine publications: Baltimore Sun, Vigor’e, Natural Hair Style, and was a Zen magazine cover model.
Magi, who was born in ADWA, Ethiopia, graduated from Gondar University in Ethiopia with a degree in Pharmacy. Although modeling is her passion, she plans on pursing her dream of becoming a Doctor of Pharmacy.
Stylist Lynette “Pinkie” Jackson of Prosperity Hair Salon in Laurel, Maryland, created Magi’s hairstyle and was also her makeup artist.
Magi began her modeling career in Baltimore, where she currently resides.
She graduated from John Casablanca Modeling School in Timonium, Maryland.
Magi has participated in New York Fashion Week, BET’s Leading Women Define First Ladies Show, the Macy’s Preakness Fashion Show, Baltimore Fashion Week, and the FBLDC Fashion and Life Expo. In addition, Magi has participated in New York Fashion Week. She has also appeared in commercials on DC50 for America’s Next Top Models, Fox 45 Baltimore and Microelectronics.
