Looking for things to do with your children this week? Don't miss out! Here's what's happening in the Baltimore / Central Maryland area this week.
All Week Long:
*Curious George is monkeying around at Port Discovery (from 2/6/10 - 6/6/10). Joshua's Journey also continues at Port Discovery with exhibits to show kids the life of a black cowboy on the Chisholm Trail. (1/17/10-4/5/10).
*GPS Adventures (from 2/10-4/18/10) is the latest and greatest traveling exhibit at the Maryland Science Center.
*Celebrate Women's History Month at the B&O Railroad with special exhibits showing the contributions women have made to the railroading industry. This is a month-long event.
*The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is now open!
*Wear those uniforms! Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts get $1.00 off admission to the B&O Railroad Museum all month long. This is a great deal for families and small groups. Large groups should call for group pricing.
Events for the week of Monday, March 15, 2010 to Sunday, March 21, 2010:
*Celebrate the Ides of March with a caesar salad! "Beware of the Ides of March" was only unlucky for Julius Caesar who was killed this day in 44 B.C.
*Barnes & Noble of Bel Air has a special 10:30 am storytime to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
*Preschool Story Time at 11:00 am at the Maryland Science Center with the price of admission.
*Parents - be sure to celebrate "Everything You Do Is Right" day!
*Celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Remember that it is also Irish American Heritage Month.
*Frederick's Barnes & Noble store is celebrating St. Patrick's Day with a special storytime at 10:30am.
*Toddler Time at B&O Railroad Museum at 10:30am. Special activities just for the little ones. Free with admission.
*Come to the Maryland Science Center at 11am for Wiggle Time with the cost of admission.
*Celebrate Absolutely Incredible Kid Day!
*The Bel Air Barnes & Noble store will have a special storytime visitor at 10:30 am - Clifford the Big Red Dog! Gather around for a barkin' good time!
*Celebrate the first day of Spring! Rita's Italian Ice is giving away free ice from 12pm -10pm today only!
*Celebrate National Quilting Day! Try a no-sew fleece blanket to start.
*Parents - Debbie Phelps (Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps' mother) will be at the Barnes & Noble store in Bel Air for a discussion and book signing at 11am. Her inspirational story of raising Michael with ADHD right here in Baltimore is exciting.
*The Maryland Science Center has a special program, Spring Into the Equinox, from 12-4pm with the cost of admission to celebrate the first day of Spring. Giveaways, special shows, and more!
