Though registrations for August's popular IronGirl Sprint triathlon  and this weekend's Olympic Distance Columbia Triathlon are closed, there are many other sprint and Olympic triathlons in the metro Baltimore area still open.  With the sprint triathlon's short distances, there is plenty of time to get into enough shape to sign up for a spring race, and fall's Olympic distance tris are attainable.

Here is a partial list of events in the area still open:

  • June 27, 2010 - Celebration Sprint Triathlon (Centennial Park, Columbia).  Participate in this inaugural event, co-produced by Howard County Recreation and Parks and the Columbia Triathlon Association

  • Septembe 25, 2010 - Make a Wish Triathlon (Bethany Beach, DE).  This Olympic distance tri features an ocean swim and flat bike and run courses.

  • August 1, 2010- SheROX Philadelphia Triathlon. Swim, bike and run in historic Philly's Fairmount Park in this sprint triathlon.

  • August 29, 2010 - SheROX Asbury Park.  This sprint tri features only a quarter mile swim and 12 mile bike ride along the Jersey shore.

SheROX is offering a $10 coupon for current registrations.  Use the coupon

code MOMPHILLY2010.
