Ballantyne’s Gallery Restaurant introduces Liquid Arts cocktails

The Gallery, the award-winning restaurant at the Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge, recently upped its game with new cocktail menu designed by top mixologist Greg Voss. Voss is a veteran behind the bar, crafting cocktails at Chef Bryan Voltaggio’s VOLT Restaurant in Frederick, Maryland, as well as Charlotte’s BLT Steak and Noble’s. Most recently, his vision created a new bar experience for the patrons of Ilios Noche.

In line with the Gallery’s farm-to-table philosophy, the Liquid Arts cocktail menu features house-made syrups and sodas, fresh squeezed juices, and local products in its line-up of handcrafted drinks. Several of the drinks include savory and herbal flavors rarely found in cocktails. The results add up to beverages ideal for a Spring celebration, either in the Gallery’s spacious bar or on the patio overlooking the golf course.

Voss’s Liquid Arts creations include:

  • Explore. Vodka, fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and basil-coriander syrup are strained into a chilled martini glass, then garnished with a basil leaf and cracked black pepper.
  • Aroma. Vodka and fresh squeezed lime juice are shaken with a house-made strawberry-rosemary syrup, then strained into a champagne flute, topped off with Prosecco and garnished with a stem of rosemary.

“Liquid Arts was inspired by Gallery Restaurant’s mission to create the best possible dishes with house-made and local ingredients,” said Peter Grills, general manager at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge. “The new menu rejuvenates our cocktail offerings while elevating the bar experience and introducing something unique to Charlotte.”
