Bakrid, also known as Eid-ul-zuha festival. will be celebrated on November 7, 2011in India and many other countries where Muslim communities exist, with loads of zeal and ferver.
In view of the prayers at the Mir Alam Tank Idgah in Hyderabad, India, one-way traffic has been enforced on the following roads from 8 a.m. to 11.30 a.m on the day to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
Bakrid is also called as festival of Sacrifice. During the festival the members of the Muslim community always dress in their finest clothing to perform prayers (Namaz) in any mosque. See Bakrid greetings and wishes.
Bakrid was the day when Abraham sacrificed his son Ishmael (Ismail) to God. The ritual has been followed since then. On this day Muslims sacrifice one domestic animal (sheeps, cow, or goat) to God.
People greet each other by sending Bakrid sms, Check Bakrid SMS. "On the occasion of Bakrid, wish you all a very Happy Eid-ul-Zuha."
Vehicular traffic towards the Mir Alam Tank Idgah will be diverted via Puranapul and Bahadurpura police station and no vehicle will be allowed to proceed near the Idgah.
Cars, RTC buses, tourist buses, lorries and other vehicles carrying devotees are not allowed to enter the Idgah via Mir Alam Filter Bed T-junction.
