Too much alcohol, caffeine, colds and flu, or over medication. Baking soda balances an over-acid system leaving your refreshed and invigorated.
How to take a baking soda bath
Fill the bath with pleasantly hot water to cover you when you recline in the tub. Add 8-ounces of baking soda and swirl to dissolve. Soak for thirty minutes. When you get out of the tub, wrap yourself up in a big thick towel and lie down for fifteen minutes to dispel any weakness or dizziness that might happen from the heat and rapid toxin release. Use this rest time. Drink a lot of water for the rest of the day.
Home pH testing
If you’re not sure whether your body is in an acid or alkaline state you can purchase nitrazine paper from the drug or health store, and test your saliva. For the best accuracy test in the morning before eating or drinking anything or one hour after eating. Follow directions on the box. The color of the paper will tell you if your system is too acid or alkaline. If you are too acid or alkaline you will need to eliminate acid-or-alkaline forming foods from your diet.
If you are too acid, eat only fresh foods like fruits, especially plums, and vegetables, especially asparagus, miso soups, green drinks, sea vegetables, and honey. Avoid, Coffee or caffeinated sodas, meats, dairy (except yogurt and kefir), poultry, eggs, beans, peanuts and yeasted breads and any processed foods and most condiments. An overly acid system is one that is rich for cancer growth.
If you are too alkaline, reverse the above foods. An alkaline system stifles cancer growth but you want your system to be balanced, the body is naturally slightly acidic. pH values below 6.3 are condensed and too acidic while pH values above 6.8 are too alkaline. The ideal range for saliva and urine is between 6.0 and 6.8. Normal is 6.4. If saliva is above 6.8 it may indicate digestive problems below 6.0 may indicate liver and blood toxicity.
Urine cycles between 4.5 and 5.8 in the morning, to a high of 7.0 during the day. Averaging 6.4 in a twenty-four hour period. If urine is too acid, below 6.0 may indicate dehydration or kidney stress. Too alkaline, over 8) may be a sign of liver, kidney or pancreas dysfunction.
