Bakersfield Jr. Derby fights cancer

This Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 the young women of Bakersfield Jr. Derby (BJRD) with the help of several Jr. derby girls from other leagues will be hosting the Relay for Life carnival at the Rollerama (1004 34th St. Bakersfield, CA). This year they hope to raise enough money to help the people of Kern County fight cancer, if not cure it altogether.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the two-hour Jr. derby scrimmage starts promptly at 10:00 a.m. Never seen Jr. derby played before? Well this is a great opportunity as tickets are just $5. The young ladies of derby are exceptionally exciting to watch. The teenagers could blend into adult play and the younger ones amaze with the feats they perform.

After the bout play some carnival games, eat some food, listen to the live band, and win a lot of big prizes. The carnival lasts from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. and carnival tickets are only $0.50. It's a good time, for a good price, and a really good cause.
