This dish is great for your Fourth of July cookout. It's the perfect alternative to a boring can of pork and beans. Everything gets put into a crockpot so it's easy to make and to keep warm during the cookout. If you don't have a crockpot, you may also heat the ingredients in a large pot on the stove.
Calico Beans
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 TBSP. vinegar
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 2 can kidney beans, drained
- 1 can pork and beans
- 2 cans butter beans, drained
- 2 cans navy beans, drained
- 3/4 c. ketchup
- 1 tsp. salt
Mix well and heat in a crockpot for three hours on low.
