Bailey Gumm crowned Miss Douglas County 2013

Bailey Gumm was crowned Miss Douglas County 2013 on Feb. 9, according to the Gardnerville Record-Courier.

“It feels good to be back,” she wrote on her Twitter account.

The crowning qualifies her for the Miss Nevada Pageant. The winner of the Miss Nevada title will compete for the 2014 Miss America crown.

It would not be the first time Bailey won a statewide pageant. In 2011, she was crowned Miss Nevada’s Outstanding Teen and was a contestant in the national Miss America’s Outstanding Teen pageant.

The teen pageant is the younger-sister event sponsored by the Miss America Organization.

According to the profile published when she held the teen title, Bailey is a graduate of Douglas High School who hopes to eventually earn a master’s degree and become a speech pathologist, primarily for autistic children.

"I had the opportunity to dance at Disney World," she wrote for her pageant profile. "I love Broadway Musicals. I can put my feet behind my head. I love blueberries and Oreos - but not together. One of my relatives is Judy Garland, 'Francis Gumm,' but you may know her best as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz."
