Bahamas' Cazna Hinds is officially ‘Ready For Change’ with new single

Cazna Hinds from The Bahamas is the next gospel girl on the verge of going global. With her smooth vocals, bubbly personality and kid you grew up with appeal, Cazna is a talent who ought not be ignored.

With her single Ready For Change, Cazna showcases beautiful vocal control over a smooth R&B beat that can easily rival Mary Mary, Damita and Michelle Williams.

When I first caught up with Cazna, she was goofing off on Facebook giggling with a song she was working on. I happened upon her single when she tagged me as a result of us working together on a few projects or two as she does graphics, videography and is the creative director for Enue Magazine.

From the moment she croons “Take my… hand Lord…” she reels in listeners to a relaxing track, a project she collaborated with Sketch Carey, a fixture on the local R&B/Hip Hop scene.

As the first member of the media to speak with Cazna, she gave a refreshing display of humility, surprised that I’d even wanted to talk about her song. I even had the pleasure of referring to her as Caz, the name reserved for those who are a part of her inner circle.

“I wrote this song when I was at a point in my life when I was really tired of being the way I was,” she confessed. “It’s like you wanna do better but then you keep doing the things that you said you won’t do anymore. It just came from a sincere place cuz’ I know if my heart is truly changed then everything would be different.”

Cazna says she’s inspired by a myriad of artists including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Kierra Sheard, Sketch, Dawkins & Dawkins, The Walls Group, Brandy and Beyonce’ time name a few. She hopes to follow in their footsteps by releasing an EP by February.

Whether she knows it or not, her cool and confident vocals and style with this single is certainly going to change Cazna from being a sweet young woman with a hobby, into the next Caribbean gospel export.
