On April 10, 2014, New York's most fashionable women attended The New York Junior League's 6th Annual Bags and Bubbles Silent Auction. This so fun event was held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Astor House, 130 East 80th Street, New York, NY. Now aside from the fashionable handbags that available as part of their silent designer handbag auction there were amazing hors d'oeuvres and the most delicious Insomnia Cookies ever!
Now the mission of The New York Junior League is a deep commitment by an organization of women to promote volunteerism and to develop the potential of women and to improve communities through effective action and leadership.
The organization's sole purpose is educational and charitable.
Each year more than 2,600 trained volunteers donate more than 250,000 hours of their time to better the lives of women and children in New York. The NYJL works with more than 20 community-based organizations and public agencies to deliver and assist the needy.
Now in addition to this wonderful silent handbag auction (which featured 150 plus handbags from many well-known designers) such as Donna Karan, Tory Burch, Cole Haan and Gucci the atmosphere at the event was very convivial!
All of the proceeds from this silent designer handbag auction will be benefiting The New York Junior League's charitable initiatives one of which is The Cancer Awareness and Support Committee. The Cancer Awareness and Support Committee is a community outreach committee which has a dual mission. That is to first and foremost bring awareness to cancer prevention and in addition to provide support for cancer patients and their families.
