I hadn’t been to Bagger Dave’s in a while and lucky for me, I stopped in on a night they were pouring Bell’s Hopslam! I knew Bagger Dave’s had good burgers, and plenty of interesting toppings. As a bonus, I was impressed with their dedication to Michigan craft brews and spirits.
Bagger Dave’s isn’t content to stick with the same old routine either. For spring, they’ve introduced new menu items including several meatless options.
A few tricks up their proverbial sleeve include grilled cheese and tomato soup, featuring “twisted mac meltdown”, a sandwich of Bagger Dave’s signature sourdough bread layered with twisted mac-n-cheese, swiss, and chipotle BBQ sauce.
Burger fans will want to try the Ono burger, with bbq sauce, sliced pineapple, sautéed onions and bacon. Bagger Dave’s lets you choose between lean ground beef, ground turkey or a vegetarian black bean patty. Pair this with a whole wheat bun and you won’t feel so bad about ordering another beer, or dessert.
Another new menu item is the Artisan mac-n-cheese. The original consists of cavatappi noodles twirled with sharp cheddar, Swiss and smoked Gouda cheeses, topped with a mix of Parmesan and breadcrumbs, then baked golden brown. If you want a little heat, try the "Smokin’ Hot Mac n’ Cheese". It’s the Twisted Mac ablaze with applewood bacon, jalapeños, pico de gallo and Santa Fe Chipotle Sauce. Still not satisfied? Then try the Chili Mac-- cavatappi noodles smothered in Bagger Dave’s Turkey Black Bean Chili, topped with pepper jack cheese.
In addition to the new menu, Bagger Dave’s has signed on to the "Kids LiveWell Program", a first-of-its-kind nationwide initiative that highlights restaurants providing nutritious and healthful menu options for children. The program is led by the National Restaurant Association in collaboration with Healthy Dining. Kids can choose applesauce or a banana over French fries, and chow down on a kids turkey burger or turkey black bean chili.
Bagger Dave's is a full-service, family friendly restaurant and bar with a casual, comfortable atmosphere. The menu features freshly-made burgers (never frozen), accompanied by a choice of more than 30 toppings, along with fresh-cut fries, hand-dipped milkshakes, and a selection of craft beer and wine. The Bagger Dave's concept emphasizes local flair by showcasing historical photos of the city in which each restaurant resides. Currently, there are 11 corporate-owned locations and one franchised location in Missouri. For more information, visit www.BaggerDaves.com.
