The BAFTA Film Awards are set to get a bit silly in the United Kingdom for their show this year. In a new statement, it has been announced that Miss Piggy is set to host the red-carpet show for the country's version of the Academy Awards:
"Naturally, I will be asking questions that only moi would dare to ask.”
From a marketing standpoint, this is a bold move. The BAFTAs are not as popular in the United States (naturally) as the Oscars, but this could give them some additional buzz. It also givves the show a name that families around the world are familiar with and will make certain things stay lighthearted. This is also a smart move for "The Muppets," since their movie is about to open overseas.
For those watching in Britain, the 2012 red-carpet show airs on BBC3 Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. local time. Meanwhile, the show itself starts at 9:00 on BBC1.
