Badgley Mischka Fall 2013 - A simple story told with aplomb (Photos)

Badgley Mischka Fall 2013 collection relies on the simple, non-fussy style that is timeless, yet speaks of modern day sensibilities. Hollywood favorite and red carpet darlings Mark Badgley and James Mischka move away from their signature lace gowns, intricate embroidery and blush hues to deliver a darker, delineated and more lucid collection than their Spring 2013 line.

The graphite, black and white color palette is punctuated by the occasional gold and streaks of crimson, most obvious in the big, over sized silk bows around the models' neck. The femininity and guileless silhouettes unique to Badgley Mischka creations are still there but they are sheathed in more polished veneer, even the gowns are topped with tuxedo jackets and silk scarves.

The fabrics are soft and light like silk crepe, chiffon, tulle and organza with occasional textured ones in damask pattern. There are elegant and luxurious fur capes and cowls, tweeds and plaids and barely there peplum waists in some of the dresses. Although, the Badgley Mishka Fall 2013 collection is more restricted and somewhat starker in spirit, we can still see the glimpse of their sumptuous, lavish style in the gold beaded jacket, gold jersey evening gown, black and silver brocade and lace dress and beaded tulle and organza gowns.
