Over the next two days, TNA will be taping a few weeks worth of IMPACT wrestling television episodes live from Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately, these episodes won't include the tag team of Bad Influence; who many fans believe to be the most entertaining duo in the company. Bad Influence member Christopher Daniels first broke the news via Twitter that he and his partner Kazarian were not booked for the tapings. And, according to a March 14 report by WrestlingInc.com, not only is their absence from the tapings due to TNA just not booking them, Daniels' contract is set to expire in April.
In another unique twist to this story, both Daniels and Kazarian are booked for other indy promotions during WrestleMania weekend instead of TNA's live events.
True to form, both Daniels and Kazarian are having fun with this situation as they entertain their fans via Twitter. Daniels would make the following comments on March 12 about their absence from the upcoming events:
"HORRIBLE NEWS! Due to the heinous acts of The Great Muta at LockDown, #BadInfluence will NOT be at the Impact events in Orlando 3/13-15!"
Daniels would continue to keep his followers entertained with many more tweets including this gem:
"But we feel most horribly for the fans, who must now endure Impact events scientifically proven to be 37% less entertaining in our absence!"
The duo of Kaz and Daniels have been together since the formation of the faction Fortune in late 2010 to early 2011. They would eventually break up the group, but Kaz and Daniels would remain together. However, it wasn't until early 2013 that the duo would formally dub themselves Bad Influence.
Kaz and Daniels won the tag-team titles twice in 2012, earning them the honors of being tag team of the year by The Wrestling Observer newsletter. However, it's this columnist's opinion that the team really excelled in 2013 when TNA allowed Kaz and Daniels to express their creativity, humor and entertaining mic work.
Bad Influence easily became the most entertaining aspect of IMPACT wrestling for most of 2013. They were involved in many top storylines not only in the tag-team division but also as part of the group of wrestlers that helped Dixie Carter rid TNA of Sting and AJ Styles at the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014.
At the LockDown PPV on Sunday, March 9, Bad Influence teamed up with Chris Sabin to take on the Japanese trio of The Great Muta, Sanada and Yasu. Although they came up short in their match, Daniels and Kazarian shined like they usually do. This also adds to the confusion of fans and critics as the company chose to not follow up the 6-man tag-team match success on any of the subsequent IMPACT episodes.
For a company that's been struggling in many aspects, and taking a beating by many critics, it's very troubling that TNA wouldn't book their most reliable and entertaining tag-team. Kazarian echoed this sentiment when making the following comments via his twitter page on March 12:
"When you have players who excel in all facets of the game, they shouldn't be sitting on the bench."
TNA fans can only hope that the company quickly works out deals with both Daniels and Kazarian, who's contract is rumored to end within a few months, and get them back on TV immediately.
