Bacon shell taco is a fan's delight; ‘Baco’ to be served at Michigan ball field

A “Baco” might be the reason the stands are full this coming season at the Fifth Third Ballpark. The ball field in Comstock Park, Michigan is home to the West Michigan Whitecaps. A simple taco, in a bacon shell is the latest item to be added to the menu thanks to the fans that helped picked out the culinary delight. The strange but true taco was announced on Wednesday by the club and it is a going to be a reason for bacon eating fans to come out and watch the game.

Holding a yearly competition, one item is chosen from the entries for the fans to eat while watching the West Michigan Whitecaps, a Class A minor league baseball team, affiliated with the Detroit Tigers, that plays in the Midwest League.

The Baco is described as a taco-shaped sandwich which will hold lettuce, tomato and sauce inside a shell made of bacon strips. That’s right; the strips outside holding the shells will be the protein of the actual serving which is rather different (to describe it politely.) The 150 fan submitted menu suggestions had a very strong theme of bacon so it’s safe to say the stands will be smelling like bacon too when the team hits the field.
