Backstreet Boys to tour with Spice Girls?

According to a March 25 report from the "Music Times," the Backstreet Boys are in early talks with the Spice Girls to engage in a tour that would take both acts to venues across the globe.

"We are actually in early talks about maybe doing a world tour together with the Spice Girls," said Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell.

The Backstreet Boys have been back in full swing for several years now, so it's no surprise that they'll be touring again this year. In fact, they already announced some summer gigs with Avril Lavigne as support.

The interesting element of the Backstreet Boys - Spice Girls tour is definitely latter, being that the group hasn't performed in close to two years. The Spice Girls last performed together during the closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics, and many fans thought that was the end of the line for the group. Following that gig, Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham said she's officially done with the Spice Girls forever. "Sporty Spice" recently said the Spice Girls should get back together in 2016, for the 20th anniversary celebration of their first hit single, "Wannabe."

No word yet on when the Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls world tour will be, if ever. Since the Backstreet Boys are booked up for most of this summer, chances are the tour would happen next summer.

'90s nostalgia tour are all the rage, with fests such as "Under the Sun" and "Summerland" kicking into gear this summer. The Backstreet Boys are clearly hoping to cash in on the trend, but it's unclear as of yet if The Spice Girls will jump into the mix. Time will tell how the situation plays out. Until then, Spice Girls fans can only sit back and wait for more announcements.
