There is something exciting about being backstage in a theater, the energy, the excitement, the costumes and lights, all elements of what makes the performing arts magical. The Palace Theater www.palacetheaterct.org located on 100 East Main Street in Waterbury is offering a special backstage tour to visitors on the first Friday of the month from February through June. The dates for these tours are February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2 and June 6.
Tours have been scheduled to start promptly at 11 a.m. and will run approximately one hour. The tours are lead by "Palace Theater Ambassadors" that will regale participants with the rich history of this marvelous 90 year old historic gem. These specially trained volunteers will tell stories highlighting the theater's history, architectural design and share entertaining anecdotal information from the little known to the well known secrets of the Palace Theater.
