Some sunshine and a warm breeze from the southwest will help to boost temperatures today into the low to even mid 40s.

A cold front arrives Sunday morning allowing the next arctic airmass to slide back into the area. Temperatures plummet all day Sunday and into Monday with readings down to near 10° by Monday morning.

As the wind becomes more northerly behind the front, lake effect snow showers develop. Several inches may accumulate Sunday night, primarily west of US-131.

Temperatures remain below freezing all week with scattered snow showers. Wind chill temperatures will likely dip below 0° New Year’s Eve. Bundle up if you plan to be outside for the festivities in Grand Rapids Tuesday evening.

With another week below freezing any snow that falls will stay around for a while.
