It is way easier than you think it is. Pizza dough has a reputation of being a difficult or time consuming recipe, but the truth is, it takes only a few minutes to prepare. The hour and a half rise time gives you the chance to help the kids get to their homework, pick up the house, or have a little time to yourself to unwind while the yeast works its magic.
Press the dough out, top with ingredients of your choice and pop into the oven for 10-15 minutes, for a total hands on time of 30 minutes! Now this is a real 30 minute meal! No fancy equipment needed, use a rimmed cookie sheet and press the dough to the thickness of your liking without even coating your sheet with added butter or oil.
This recipe yields two thin crust pizzas or one breadier pie. If you make two, reserve the extra mound of dough for a later date by wrapping tightly with saran wrap and sealing in a ziploc bag. Throw it in the freezer and allow to defrost before using in the future.
Voila! Homemade pizza!
