Many New Orleanians were bummed when Mike’s on the Avenue closed its doors in 1999 after nine successful years in business. It was a real loss to the area, and several restaurants opened in the space, but never made it.

Fans of the old Mike’s find many similarities to the former restaurant in food and ambience. Mike’s artistry in the kitchen and on the canvas also abound. From the chef’s imaginative delicacies of the 1990’s (with 2010 adaptations) and his skills as a visual artist on the canvas, New Orleanians feel right at home.
