Bachmann signs controversial anti-gay Christian pledge

In Iowa Thursday GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann signed a controversial anti-gay, conservative Christian pledge.

Bachmann, by signing the pledge sponsored by the Iowa Christian conservative group known as The Family Leader, agrees to oppose same sex marriage and claims homosexuality is a choice, a health risk, and comparable to adultery, polygamy and polyandry.

In addition to the offensive treatment of gay and lesbian Americans, signers of the pledge also agree to ban all forms of pornography. Perhaps even more disturbing, the pledge compares abortion to human trafficking, sexual slavery and prostitution.

Bachmann's extreme conservative Christian values continue to be a polarizing and divisive element of her presidential bid. Recently Matt Taibbi, writing for Rolling Stone, described Michele Bachmann's Holy War:

Bachmann is a religious zealot whose brain is a raging electrical storm of divine visions and paranoid delusions. She believes that the Chinese are plotting to replace the dollar bill, that light bulbs are killing our dogs and cats, and that God personally chose her to become both an IRS attorney who would spend years hounding taxpayers and a raging anti-tax Tea Party crusader against big government.

The following is a sample of tweets from the relevant Twitter stream:

If you support Michele Bachmann you support a stagnant future that rejects all people with views different from the religious right.
