‘Bachelorette’ star Trista Sutter has had some not-so-rosy Valentine’s Days

“Bachelorette” star Trista Sutter was looking for love, and she found it on a reality show. But while everything’s rosy now (she met and married hunky fireman Ryan Sutter in 2003), it turns the franchise’s original “Bachelorette” star has had her share of thorny Valentine’s Days.

On Feb. 14, People posted an interview with the 41-year-old mom of two, who revealed, "Oh, gosh, I've lived a lot of Valentine's Days by myself and wanting someone like Ryan in my life. I can't remember one in particular that was horrible, but I do know that I had been alone a lot on Valentine's Day and not been happy a lot on Valentine's Day."

Ten years after her multi-million dollar made-for-TV wedding, Sutter says, "I'm happier than ever, actually. I think when you wake up in the morning, you know if you're complete. And I think when you lay your head down at night, if your mind isn't wandering and you're not on the verge of tears, then you have a smile inside, even if you aren't always smiling."

The Sutters recently renewed their wedding vows and revealed that they’ve had some rough patches in their relationship. In an interview last December with “Good Morning America,” Sutter said the couple’s relationship consists of “trust, honesty respect, love, commitment, friendship, humor—you know, all of those things wrapped into one."

The current season of “The Bachelor” airs on Mondays at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
