From bachelor to dad-chelor! “Bachelorette” star J.P. Rosenbaum is getting ready for the birth of his baby boy, but he’s taking a little time with his big boys to toast the blessed event.

On Saturday, the 37-year-old construction manager, who wed “Bachelorette” Ashley Hebert in 2012, spoke with the Philadelphia TV Examiner about his guy-themed baby shower, sponsored by Mike’s Hard Lemonade. J.P. also gave us the scoop on how Ashley’s pregnancy is going (she’s due in October!), how they’re preparing for the baby’s arrival, and what he really thought when producers approached them about getting an ultrasound on the live “Bachelorette” finale last month.

“Every shower or baby shower, wedding shower they’re really just all for Ashley,” J.P. explained about his upcoming Mike’s Dad-Chelor party. “I mean, I have fun and I go, but they’re for her. And this was a chance for me to get out and spend the night with my boys, my dad, my brother, and really one last night before I change the booze for diapers. Mike’s Hard Lemonade approached me about it and I thought it was just a perfect idea, especially to have it up here in New York. And everyone’s really looking forward to it.” (Note: The party is being held Saturday night at W Hotel in Manhattan, according to Newsday.)

On Ashley’s live ultrasound

“I was not [nervous],” J.P. told us of the couple’s decision to undergo a live ultrasound on the recent ‘Bachelorette” finale. “But it’s not my body. It was really, if Ashley was comfortable doing it I would do it. We’re very liberal people - it’s not something that we would judge anyone on. It all came down to her feeling comfortable with it and the producers doing it tastefully. We knew they would - we had several conversations with them beforehand, so we knew it would be done tastefully. And it was a chance for us to see everybody again have a little fun on TV, because we don’t get to do it all that often … Every time you see the heartbeat it’s just…you can’t get enough of it.”

On the baby’s name

“We’re naming it either Chris or Harrison,” the dad-to-be joked, referencing the first and last name of the longtime host of “The Bachelor” franchise. “We have narrowed it down. Ashley has her number one, I have my number one, which means her number one is the one that counts. I am really leaving it ‘til the ninth inning where I’m gonna barrage her with other names, you know, two or three weeks before to see if I can trump hers. But if I went with my gut, I would think we would go with the one that she already chose. Which I do love.”

On the baby’s nursery

“Ashley is taking the driver’s seat when it comes to the nursery,” he dished. “I have seen some mock- ups… she is working with somebody to get it together. I believe it is a travel theme. This has been something she has been dying to do, and so I give some input, but I let her take the reigns … I’m a little superstitious, you know, I come from a family and a tradition where getting gifts and doing too much for the baby before the baby is born… it’s part of the Jewish faith, I guess. I’m OK with letting her handle it. She’s having a lot of fun with it.”

On the couple’s recent move to Miami

“Timing was everything,” J.P. explained about the couple’s move from New Jersey to Miami just two months before the baby’s due date. “Ashley lived in Hawaii for a year and ever since then she’s always wanted to live in a warm climate. For the past three years we’ve talked about it, and she wanted to move to L.A. and I didn’t - it’s just too far, time zones, families, everything. And the current company that I work for had an opportunity with a few projects down in Miami, they were looking for someone like me to work down there. So Ashley and I discussed it, I approached the powers-that-be at my company, and next thing I know they said ‘OK’ and I’m off to Miami.”

On how Ashley is handling her pregnancy

“She’s feeling surprisingly great,” he said of his wife's pregnancy. “There have been no stereotypical ‘pregnant women’ instances, so to speak. She hasn’t been moody, she hasn’t been feeling … she’s been feeling herself, she hasn’t been craving anything. It’s really remarkable. She’s doing so well with it. Besides the fact she’s put on 30 pounds and I don’t think I’ve ever been more attracted to her… It’s unbelievable. I guess I didn’t know how I would feel about it, but every time I see her I am blown away by how she looks. She just looks so beautiful. She’s even said to me, ‘I think you love me more pregnant, you find me more attractive pregnant than you do my normal body!’”
