'Bachelorette’ star Andi Dorfman responds to Nick Viall’s ‘classless’ comment

Andi Dorfman may be happily engaged, but the newly retired “Bachelorette” star is still fielding questions about one of her bitter exes.

Following rejected runner-up Nick Viall’s live TV revelation that he and Dorfman “made love” in the private fantasy suite just days before she accepted a proposal from another man, the stunned “Bachelorette” star called his comment “below the belt” and chastised him for not keeping that information to himself. And in a video posted by Huffington Post on Tuesday, July 29, Dorfman responded to Viall’s statement once again, admitting that she nearly walked off the stage when he blurted their behind closed doors biz.

"I just felt like, again, [it was] just kind of classless,” she said. “That's supposed to be private and I don't know what purpose you're accomplishing by doing that. But you know, we're going to take the high road and I'm not going to let that overshadow the happiness.”

Dorfman’s “happiness” refers to her engagement to Josh Murray, who presented her with a Neil Lane sparkler on the Monday night’s finale. And while she’s clearly head over heels in love with the 29-year-old former baseball player, the bliss over their engagement could have potentially been marred by Viall’s careless commentary. But if Murray is jealous about Dorfman’s recent past, he’s not letting on. He even offered his own two cents about his fiance’s final dalliance with another man.

"I really don't care for Nick that much,” he said. “I think it was a classless move and very disrespectful, but I feel like she handled it with as much class as possible and that's all we're doing in this situation…We really could care less about that -- that's so far in the past, it's crazy. I mean, we're so much in love."

As for Viall, the lovelorn contestant tried to contact Dorfman several times after she dumped him, then went so far as to write her a passionate letter which was posted publicly on the ABC show’s Facebook page. The former couple’s first face to face meeting was on Monday night’s live show, and Viall later told People he has finally started to move on, but he’s not quite there yet.

"I've accepted her decision very much, absolutely," he told the magazine. "But I think when you love someone as much as I loved her, I don't know if you totally get over that in 10 weeks. I'm still working through it."

There’s no word on whether Viall will try his luck at love on TV again or not, but rumor has it the slot for the next star of “The Bachelor” is still open.
